Our Lady’s Appearance to the Shepherd Children Near the Village of Fatima July 13, 1917

During the Great War (1914 – 1918 ), Our Blessed Mother Mary appeared to three shepherd children of the Serra at the Cova da Iria near the village of Fatima, Portugal.

Lucia dos Santos, Francisco and Jacinta Marto received a visitation of our Lady on the 13th of every month between May 13 – October 13 in the year 1917.  This was right before the Bolshevik Revolution was erupted in Russia (Nov 1917), an event which began the new form of government for Russia and all nations that would be captured by the Revolution:   atheistic, Marxist Communism.

Until the dissolution of the Third ComIntern by Stalin (1943), the Kremlin was the base and headquarters of what was to be the permanent, world-wide Revolution for world government

In Her appearance to the children on July 13, 1917, Our Blessed Mother confided the great matter of our times to the three children and entrusted them with a secret comprised of three parts along with visions and instructions of how they should relate Her prophecies and warnings to the world.

First. The three children were shown a vision of Hell in which they saw souls falling into the abyss like snowflakes.  Little Jacinta would later relate that most souls go to Hell because of the sins of the flesh. Our Blessed Mother lamented to them the souls falling into hell because there was no one to pray and make sacrifices for them.

Vision of Hell.  Audience Hall of Paul VI, the Vatican

In the Prologue to her “Fourth Memoir”,
https://web.archive.org/web/20160301024857/http://fatima.ageofmary.com/overview/in-lucias-own-words/fourth-memoir/
Sister Lucia wrote an account of the vision of Hell which our Lady showed to her and her cousins Jacinta and Francisco Marto, shepherd children of the Serra da Aire near the village of  Fatima July 13, 1917.   Lucia dos Santos was then age 10 Francisco was 9 and Jacinta was 7.

Our Lady told the shepherd children: “You have seen Hell where poor sinners go.  To save them, God wishes to establish in the world devotion to my Immaculate Heart.  If what I say to you is done, many souls will be saved and there will be peace.”

She told the children to pray the Rosary daily for the end of the war (the Great War, WWI). And she warned that if the world did not repent and men did not better themselves, another and far greater war would erupt in the reign of Pius XI. “When you see a night illumined by an unknown light, know this is the great sign given you by God that He is about to punish the world with war, famine and by persecution of the Church and the Holy Father.”

Our Blessed Mother was correct in this prediction as well. Just before the outbreak of World War II, a great light was seen in sky of North America, Europe , even in North Africa: 25 – 26 Jan 1938.

“To prevent this” our Lady continued “I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, and the communion of reparation on the first Saturdays.

Once Again the Sacred Heart Speaks to the Church

“If my requests are heeded,” our Lady continued “Russia will be converted and there will be peace; if not, she (Russia) will spread here errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The Good will be martyred; the Holy Father will have much to suffer and certain nations will be annihilated.”

“In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me and she shall be converted. A period of peace will be granted to the world.”

To prove the authenticity of Her visitation and prophecies at Fatima, our Blessed Mother promised a miracle “so that all may believe.”

On Oct 13 1917, this miracle, also known as the ‘miracle of the sun’, occurred before approximately 70,000 people gathered on the surrounding hillside. It is commemorated in the magnificent ‘miracle of the sun’ stained glass window in  the Sanctuary of the Our Lady of the Rosary of Fatima at the Cova da Iria in the parish of Fatima, Portugal.

Returning to our Blessed Mother’s words , let me clarify Her warning precisely.

If Her requests , namely: penance, prayer, repentance, the consecration of Russia by name to Her Immaculate Heart by the Holy Father and all the bishops and the reparation of the First Five Saturdays devotion were not performed THEN the errors of Russia would spread.  And this spread of the “errors of Russia” would  lead to wars, famine and persecution of the Church and the Holy Father, the” annihilation of certain nations…”

She gave the assurance that “In Portugal” she said “dogma of the faith will be preserved”, etc.

The matter of  ‘the etc’ in Sr Lucia of Fatima’s transcript of our Lady’s visitation of July 13 1917 is considered to be a secret of the Holy See to this day. It was supposed to be published to the Church and the world ( urbi et orbi) in 1960. But, it was never published.

At 9.19 in the featured video, the narrator relates what he believes to be the continuation of Our Lady’s discourse July 13, 1917 in the matter of ‘the etc.”

His narration of what he believes to be the suppressed confidence of our Lady agrees with so much of what has been acknowledged in so many of Her prophecies approved by the Church as well as the Revolution in the Church that became Manifest at Vatican Council II (1962 – 65) and afterwards that I include a transcript of his narration here. Of especial import and consideration for this material is the confirmation by Cardinal Mario Ciappi “In the Third Secret , it is foretold (among other things) that the great apostasy in the Church will begin at the top. “

Et Cetera

“In Portugal, the dogma of the faith will always be preserved.’ [ If Her requests are not heeded ], “if people do not repent and better themselves, the Father will inflict a terrible punishment upon all humanity. A Great War in the twenty-first century launched by Satan’s Partisans in the East will come. Those surviving will envy the dead. Death will briefly reign, raised to triumph by the brothers of death, who seek to be masters of the earth. All the world will be thrown into great confusion. Fire an smoke will fall from Heaven and waters from the ocean will turn to steam throwing their foam into the sky. Millions of people will die by the minute. The only arms which will remain for you will be the Rosary and the sign left by my Son. Each day recite the prayer of the Rosary and pray for the Pope, bishops and priests.

“A time of very severe trial is coming for the Church. Satan will reign over the highest places an succeed in infiltrating to the top of the Church. One third of the clergy will serve Satan. Entire nations will lose the faith and almost everyone upon earth condemned Hell.”

[ Note Well – This statement, severe as it is, completely fits the context of Sr Lucia’s final prophetic interview with Fr Augustin Fuentes, Dec. 26, 1957.

Fr. Fuentes interview with Sr. Lucia

“Cardinals will oppose Cardinals and bishops will oppose bishops,. Rotten changes in Rome must not be retained. The Church will be obscured. At last, those who survive these events will repent and become true followers of Jesus Christ and serve Him like before, when the world was not so corrupted. In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me and she will be converted. A period of peace will be granted to the world.”

In her final prophetic interview with Fr. Augustin Fuentes, Sr. Lucia concluded:

“Look. Father. The most Holy Virgin , in these last times in which we live, has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary. She has given this efficacy to such an extent that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families, of the families of the world or of the religious communities, or even of the life of peoples and nations, that can not be solved by the Rosary. There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we can not resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary. With the Holy Rosary we will save ourselves. We will sanctify ourselves. We will console Our Lord and obtain the salvation of many souls.”

“Finally, the devotion to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, our Most Holy Mother, consists in considering Her as the seat of mercy, of goodness and of pardon and as the certain door by which we are to enter Heaven.”

According to Sr. Lucia, this is the Divine remedy of the “time of all times and end of all ends”,  as Our Lady (in her visitation at La Salette 1846) described ‘these last times of the world’ of which She speaks.  The context and understanding of our Lady’s prophecies and requests given at Fatima are for the time when “Communism is the most visible among the organs of subversion against the Church and the Tradition of Divine Revelation” as Cardinal Pacelli, later Pope Pius XII stated.

It is for the time when the “Innovators” of which he warned would have successes in their intent to “destroy the universal flame of the Church” and impose upon the Church the ‘demolition of bastions’. ‘Nouvelle’ theologians, periti of the Vatican Council II even boasted of this “suicide”.  But Cardinal Pacelli equated this “suicide” with “the alteration of the Faith, in its liturgy, its theology and its soul.”   Cardinal Eugenio Pacelli in conversation with his friend Count Enrico Pietro Galeazzi. (This quote appears in Pie XII Devant l’Histoire (Pius XII Before History. 1972. by Msgr. Georges Roche and Phillippe Saint Germain.

The full quote from the work of Roche and Saint Germain is translated from the French and published:

In our Lady’s visitation to the shepherd children of the Serra da Aire and Her discourse to them, we see that God desires for the devotion to our Lady’s Immaculate Heart to become established in the Church and among nations. He desires consecrations to Her Immaculate Heart as the Refuge of sinners and Gate of Heaven, in accordance with these titles of our Lady in “The  Litany of Loreto.”

Our Lady clearly foresaw our time when the flame of the Tabernacle and the sacramental, Christic life of the Church would be extinguished in so much of the world as foreboded in the prophetic words of Cardinal Pacelli, later Pope Pius XII .This is why the Archangel Michael invoked the “infinite merit of the Union of the Sacred  Heart of Jesus with the Immaculate Heart of Mary” for the conversion of sinners.

This is why St. Maximillian Kolbe, Fr. Herman Cohen, etc in anticipation of this ‘time of all  times’ made consecrations to our Lady’s Immaculate Heart, why Pope Pius XI made an official act of consecration of the entire human race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Christ the King – Consecration and Encyclical by Pope Pius XI

This severe trial of the Great Apostasy is the context for our Lady’s most urgent counsels for prayer and reparation, especially the Rosary. This is Her sovereign remedy for souls ‘falling into hell’ because there are none to pray and do penance for them. She clearly saw that the flame of the sacramental and Christic life would become extinguished in much of the world by the Great Apostasy as seen in the prophetic words of Pope Pius XII.

According to Sr. Lucia,  “the Third Secret of Fatima” was supposed to be announced by the Vatican in 1960 or after the death of Sr Lucia (whichever came first).  The reason she gave Fr. Fuentes was  “because it would be clearer then”.   Pope John XXIII, however, sealed it and summoned Vatican Council II.

So indeed, beginning with Vatican Council II, the Third Secret began to be revealed because we have lived it. We have lived the Revolution in the Church.

In the eye of this storm resides , by necessity, the Keys of the our Lord’s Most Precious Blood.  The Keys would have to be invoked by the one who holds the office (the munus) of the papacy for the solemn consecration of Russia to our Lady’s Immaculate Heart by the Holy Father and all the bishops.

In her final prophetic interview with Fr. Augustin Fuentes, Sr. Lucia addressed Our Lady’s request for this consecration of Russia.  She confided that the Most Holy Virgin had said “Russia will be the instrument of chastisement chosen by Heaven to punish the whole world if we do not beforehand obtain the conversion of that poor nation”

Fr Nicholas Gruner led the Fatima Center and its Apostolate for decades. He explains the various points of the Fatima message from the final prophetic interview.
“The fierce opposition within the Church to Fatima – the obfuscation, the duplicity, the anomalies. Where there is smoke there is fire.

‘The punishment from heaven is imminent.’ This was in 1957 and clearly anticipates the Revolution in the Church and the apostasy with the loss of consecrated souls, priestly and religious vocations, the infiltration of the homosexual networks, communists and masons. The bogus consecration of Russia by John Paul II. Clearly Sr. Lucia was forseeing a time when the sacramental life of the Church would be largely extinguished in much of the world.

In the text of the conference given by Fr. Agustin Fuentes in Mexico to a religious community, he quotes from his interview with Sr. Lucia of Fatima 26 December 1957 at the Carmel of Coimbra where Sr. Lucia was a Carmelite sister.

“…the most Holy Virgin told my cousins Francisco and Jacinta, as well as myself, many times that many nations will disappear from the face of the earth and that Russia will be the instrument of chastisement chosen by Heaven to punish the entire world if we do not beforehand obtain the conversion of that poor nation”.

“Father, the most Holy Virgin , in these last times in which we live, has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary. So much so, that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or, above all, spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families, of the families of the world, of religious communities or even of the life of peoples and of nations that can not be solved by the Rosary. There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we can not resolve by praying the Holy Rosary. With the Holy Rosary , we will save ourselves, we will sanctify ourselves, we will console Our Lord and obtain the salvation of many souls.”

The text of the interview was first published under the imprimatur of Mgr Sanchez, Archbishop of Veracruz and received many successive publications.

Fr Isaac Mary Relyea – Only She Can Help Us.  Our Lady and the Spiritual Life.

The story of Fr. Hermann Cohen O.C.D. and the St. Jean Marie Vianney, Cure of Ars  is at 40.45-55 min. and explains for us why the consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary is so important to the Divine Mercy when the sacramental life of the Church has been extinguished for so many at the time of the Great Apostasy.

Our Lady as the mother of the Church can supply the necessities of salvation through the consecration to her Immaculate Heart.

Text of the Letter Prophesied to Father Hermann Cohen O.C.D. by the Cure of Ars

“Father Hermann Cohen’s mother died without receiving Holy Baptism.  In the eyes of the unwise ‘she died as an unconverted Jewess’ in spite of the many prayers offered for her by her priestly son, Fr. Hermann Cohen O.C.D.

What follows is of interest for all who pray fro souls that seem to live and die without the grace of conversion, indeed, for all who pray for the souls shown by our Lady  to the shepherd children of the Serra: souls “falling like snowflakes into hell’.

“The last moments for Mrs. Cohen arrived on 13 December 1855. Father Hermann was preaching Advent in Lyons at the time and he announced this sad news to his friend in these terms:

“God has struck a terrible blow to my heart. My poor mother is dead … and I remain in incertitude! However we have so much prayed that we must hope that something has passed between her soul and God during these last moments that we cannot know about. …”

We can easily imagine the pain of Father Hermann in learning of the death of his mother. He had so much prayed and so much had prayers said for her conversion, and she came to appear before the tribunal of God without having received holy Baptism! …

” I also have a mother,” he would  write one day, “I have left her to follow Jesus Christ, she no longer calls me her ‘good son’. Already her hair is silvered, already her brow is furrowed, and I am afraid to see her die. Oh! no I would not like to see her die before loving Jesus Christ, and already for many years I await for my mother that which Monica awaited for Augustine…”

God seemed to have despised all his prayers and rejected his loving and legitimate desires. His faith and his love were put through a harsh trial. Nevertheless, if his sorrow was deep, his hope in the infinite goodness of God would not allow itself to be struck down. …

Saint Jean Marie Vianney
Curé of Ars

A short time later, he confided to the Curé of Ars his disquiet about the death of his poor mother who died without the grace of Baptism. “Hope!” replied the man of God, “hope; you will receive one day, on the feast of the Immaculate Conception a letter that will bring you great consolation.”

Fr. Hermann Cohen O.C.D. six years waiting.

These words were almost forgotten, when, on the 8th December 1861, six years after the death of his mother, a Father of the Company of Jesus handed to Father Hermann the following letter.

(The person who wrote this letter died in the odour of sanctity; she was well known in the religious and ascetical world by her written works on the Eucharist.)

The letter read:

On the 18th October, after Holy Communion, I found myself in one of those moments of intimate union with Our Lord, where he made me so feel his presence in the sacrament of His love that Faith seemed no longer necessary to believe him there.

After a short time, He had me hear His voice and He wanted to give me some explanations relative to a conversation that I had had the night before.

I remember that, in that conversation, one of my friends had manifested her surprise that Our Lord, who has promised to accord everything to prayer, had however remained deaf to those of Reverend Father Hermann who had so many times addressed Him to obtain the conversion of his mother; her surprise went almost as far as discontentment, and I had had difficulty in having her understand that we must adore the justice of God and not to seek to penetrate its secrets.

I dared to ask of my Jesus how it was that He, who was goodness itself, had been able to resist the prayers of Father Hermann, and not grant the conversion of his mother.

This was His (Our Lord’s) response:

Why does Anna always want to sound the secrets of my justice and why does she seek to penetrate mysteries that she cannot comprehend?

Tell her that I do not owe my grace to anyone, that I give it to whom I please and that in acting in this way I do not cease to be just, and justice itself.

But that she may know that, rather than not keep the promises that I have made to prayer, I will upset heaven and earth, and that every prayer that has my glory and the salvation of souls for object is always heard when it is clothed in the necessary qualities.

He added: “And to prove to you this truth, I willingly make known that which passed at the moment of the death of the mother of Father Hermann”.

My Jesus then enlightened me with a ray of His divine light and had me understand or rather to see in Him that which I want to try to relate.

At the moment where the mother of Father Hermann was on the point of rendering her last breath; at the moment that she seemed deprived of awareness, almost without life; Mary, our good Mother, presented Herself before Her Divine Son, and prostrate at His feet, She said to Him: “Pardon and mercy, o my Son! for this soul who is going to perish. Yet another instant and she will be lost, lost for eternity. I beseech you, do for the mother of my servant Hermann, that which you would like to be done for your own, if She was in her place and if you were in his. The soul of his mother is his most precious good; he has consecrated her to me a thousand times; he has consecrated her to the tenderness and solicitude of my heart. Could I suffer her to perish? No, no, this soul is mine; I will it, I claim it as an inheritance, as the price of your blood and of my sufferings at the foot of your Cross.”

Hardly had the sacred suppliant ceased speaking, when a strong, powerful grace, came forth from the source of all graces, from the adorable Heart of our Jesus, and came to enlighten the soul of the poor dying Jewess; instantly triumphing over her stubbornness and resistances.

This soul immediately turned herself with loving confidence towards Him whose mercy had pursued her as far as the arms of death and said to Him: “O Jesus, God of the Christians, God whom my son adores, I believe, I hope in Thee, have pity on me.”

In this cry, heard by God alone and which came from the intimate depths of the heart of the dying woman, were enclosed the sincere sorrow for her obstinacy and for her sins, the desire of baptism, the express will to receive it and to live according to the rules and precepts of our holy religion, if she had been able to return to life.

This leap of faith and hope in Jesus was the last sentiment of that soul; it was made at the moment when she brought towards the throne of the divine mercy. Breaking away the weak bonds which held her to her mortal casing, she fell at the feet of Him who had been her Saviour (a moment) before being her Judge.”

After having showed me all these things, Our Lord added:

“Make this known to Father Hermann; it is a consolation that I wish to accord to his long sorrows, so that he will bless, and have blessed everywhere, the goodness of the heart of my Mother and Her power over mine.”

Totally unknown to Reverend Father Hermann, the poor invalid who has just now penned these lines is happy to think that she has perhaps spread a little consolation and balm on the still bleeding wound of the heart of this son and priest. She dares to ask the alms of his fervent prayers, and she likes to believe that he will not refuse to one, who, even though unknown to him, is united to him by the sacred bonds of the same faith and of the same hopes. …”

What appears to add great authority to this letter, is that it had been announced six years in advance by the venerable Cure of Ars.

End of translation.
