St. Louis IX, King of France

With St. Michael the Archangel and St. Martin of Tours,
St. Louis IX, King of France is a patron saint of the Arch Confraternity
of the Holy Face and one of the military patron saints of this website:
Unicuique Suum

The bronze ‘Apotheosis of St. Louis’ was donated to the city of St. Louis by the Louisiana Purchase Exposition Company 1904 and is located on the grounds of the St. Louis Art Museum of Forest Park, Missouri.

St. Louis was a crusading king of Europe’s War of Reconquista ( 718 – 1492 A.D. ) against the Islamic invasion of the remnant of Nova Roma – the Christian Oikoumene. This war of 800 years was fought on the Iberian Peninsula and the Palatinate in Europe as well as in the nations of the former Christian East which fell to the Islamic invasions of the 7th century A.D.

St. Louis opposed the efforts of the French Jews (a state within a state) to infiltrate and undertake subversion of the French society.  He  ordered the confiscation and burning of  thousands of copies of the Talmud, the legal codex of Judaism filled with unprintable blasphemies against the Lord Jesus Christ and our Lady.  And he compelled the Jewish population to submit to the decrees of the Fourth Latern Council (1213-14 A.D.) “to be distinguished in public from other people by the character of their dress” to make it more difficult for them to infiltrate the Christian society (as , of course , they are historically wont to do).
